Why Denim Day Matters

Denim Day began after a ruling by the Italian Supreme Court overturned a rape conviction because the victim’s jeans were deemed “too tight” to remove without consent. In response, people around the world started wearing denim as a bold statement: we believe survivors. Today, millions participate each year to challenge victim blaming and demand change.
