We provide comprehensive training to all our volunteers, allowing you to get involved in the community while gaining valuable skills. As a volunteer, you have the flexibility to choose your hours and select the tasks that best align with your interests and strengths.
Volunteer positions for our Crisis Hotline require the completion of a 74-hour sexual assault and domestic violence crisis counselor training program.
Certain volunteer roles, such as assisting at events, do not require specialized training.
Empower Tehama is offering a FREE 74-hour training (that will equip you with the skills and resources needed to provide crisis intervention and support to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.*
Week 1: Jan 12 - 16, 2026 • Week 2: Jan 19 - 26, 2026
*Completion of this training provides the knowledge and skills required to serve as a certified crisis counselor. However, to actively serve in that role, individuals must be employed by or volunteer with a domestic violence/sexual assault crisis response agency.
